Farm Raised Oysters

The oyster farm is 750 feet long, and the water in Portersville Bay allows our oysters to develop a unique and salty flavor. We use stainless steel drive pipes to raise and lower bags of oysters.

Oysters in Portersville Bay take about one year to grow to full size. The oysters grow in mesh bags on the surface of the water where the mixture of salt and fresh water is perfect.

  • We harvest oysters and place them in a walk-in refrigerator immediately before they are picked up for transport.

  • We deliver refrigerated oysters to Alabama, Mississippi and northwest Florida free of charge for large orders to locations within 200 miles. Check with us to see if you are near our regular deliveries or within range for free delivery.

  • You are welcome to schedule a pick-up order and purchase oysters directly from the farm in Bayou La Batre.
