The Oyster Farm

Bayou La Batre Oyster Co. was established in 2015 with an idea to make oyster farming easier. We designed a new oyster farm that uses drive pipes and stainless steel cables to raise and lower oysters like a boat lift. With our new farming technique, we are able to grow and harvest oysters year round. On-site we have a refrigerator to store harvested oysters and a refrigerated van for deliveries. We are happy to be able to supply our customers with the best tasting and freshest Gulf Coast oysters in the south.

In southern Alabama, oyster season usually picks up in September when the water starts to cool down. We supply oysters to our customers all year long, and visitors are welcome to schedule a tour of the farm. We occasionally supply live oysters to other farmers and coastal restoration projects throughout the region. As a family owned business, we are proud to support sustainable fisheries and the local seafood industry!
